So our theme this week is a freebie, and I'm the SPOTLIGHT DANCER! Obviously, no one's ever seen me dance before!
Gibson SGs were a couple of my first loves, and Frank Zappa was like cupid. I also always admired his sense of perspective, as well...
Many songs have memorable lyrics. Some have a melody that you can never forget. There is a band you might have heard of called OK Go that made a video you will most likely never forget, and this is it:
"This Too Shall Pass"
Remember: before you tell a musician they should "get a hobby", be ready for the results.
Frank Zappa and that other group sounds like stuff your band would do. Love them both! Woo hooo!

ReplyDeleteWhat's most memorable about Frank Zappa is not his music or lyrics, but the names he gave his kids! The Rube Goldberg song was cool. I've always been fascinated with these. I need to get my gifted students to make a Rube Goldberg contraption.

Congratulations on you first Spotlight appearance! Frank Zappa is great to listen to. You better do as your Dolly says, and dance with her.

DeleteOur children loved setting up the dominoes in the living room to do really cool things, but nothing like what's in the second video. All I kept thinking was, "Who's gonna have to clean all of that mess up when it's all done?"
